11/23/2009 - Territorial Supportive Living Services Campus

In the spring of 2009 the Hay River Health and Social Services Authority added Supportive Living Services to its already extensive list of services offered to the resident’s of the South Slave region.

The construction of three group homes located on the Supportive Living Services campus has been completed, with our ten new residents settled into their new home. The construction of the administration/day program building is scheduled for completion by the end of May 2010.

The main purpose of the program is to bring residents living with an intellectual or developmental disability home to the Northwest Territories. The majority of these residents previously resided in Southern long-term care facilities. The second priority will be to NWT residents in local communities who find themselves in need of additional support.
